Celebrating our 1% for the Planet partnership

As London Climate Action Week just wrapped up, we were thrilled to celebrate some inspiring TGR collaborations in a week packed with panels, workshops, and community events.

A huge thank you to Blue Earth Summit and 1% for the Planet for supporting The Green Runners — and to Hannah Cox, who hosted a live podcast conversation with 1% for the Planet CEO, Kate Williams, whose ethos and love of running align beautifully with ours:

We can help people do something for the thing they care about, make it meaningful, give people stories to participate in, and create the conditions for people to be part of the change.

The following morning, we laced up for a sociable run and hang-out with people who are doing just that — building brilliant communities, sharing powerful stories, and creating real momentum for change. Thanks for joining us Project Salt Run, GoodGym, Deo Kato, Camino Ultra, and of course the incredible 1% for the Planet.

We are proud to be an approved environmental partner for 1% for the Planet, a global network of thousands of forward-thinking businesses and non-profits coming together for good. The idea began with Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, who believed that because companies profit from the planet’s resources, they should help protect them.

The model is simple, transparent, and effective: business members commit to donating 1% of their annual revenue (yes, revenue — no greenwashing or clever accounting) to certified environmental partners like us. The 1% team handle the vetting, certification, and amplify the storytelling to ensure every donation makes a real impact and benefits from the global network.

So far, they have certified an incredible $728 million+ in environmental giving through nearly 5000 member businesses, who proudly display the 1% badge as a credible mark of their commitment – just like we do with ours!

Know a business that might want to join the network? Let us know — we would love to help make the connection and explore how we could partner.
